  • Air

  • Sea

Ferries link Brunei with the Malaysian island of Labuan, off the coast of Sabah, and to the Malaysian towns of Limbang and Lawas in Sarawak.

 An extensive overland road network connects Brunei to Sarawak and Sabah, while the Indonesian province of Kalimantan can be reached by road, air or boat via Sarawak or Sabah.

  • Inoculation

 Yellow fever inoculation is required for visitors over one year of age coming from infected areas. Malaria, cholera and small pox have been eradicated from Brunei Darussalam and inoculation against these is not needed.

Airport Check-In Time

It is always good to arrive at the airport terminal well in advance as this will ensure that the flight operates on schedule. To enable pre-flight formalities to be concluded, one should have his/her baggage screened and checked-in at Brunei International Airport at least one and a half hours before the scheduled departure.

Pets and other animals are permitted as checked baggage on all Royal Brunei Airlines flights but can also be checked in as manifested cargo.

Local Transport

 

  • Taxis & Buses : Taxis are very few on the road even in the city of Bandar Seri Begawan. But you get them easily at the airport, hotels and shopping malls. Cars are available on hire also. You should be used to left-hand driving.
     
  • Water Taxi : You can get at much cheaper price water taxis to go around the water village.
